I’m so excited to share photos from my trip home to Charleston this summer! Best part? They’re all in film! I brought along my 35mm camera and captured as much as the gorgeous scenery as I could. Below are all of my personal photos from the trip – head over to this post to see the lifestyle session I did with Charleston Weekender!
The first full day in Charleston my mom and I headed to Folly Beach. There are a few other beaches near Charelston but Folly has always been my favorite. I absolutely love walking on the pier to watch for sea life, or grabbing a hot dog or an icee from the gift shop.
The next day day we spent in antique shops around downtown Summerville. We knew we wanted to go to Middleton Place that evening and had an hour or so of time to kill. I did a quick Google search of parks nearby and discovered Colonial Dorchester State Park which was so pretty! It was right on the Ashley River so we admired the historic ruins + some alligators sunning on the riverbank.
My family has lived in Charleston for years now and I can’t believe we had never been to Middleton Place. It’s a gorgeous historical plantation filled with gardens, live oak trees and beautiful views of the Ashley River. Middleton is also a stunning wedding venue! We stumbled upon a gorgeous reception set up so I of course snapped a few photos.
That Monday we headed downtown. This was the day I met up with Liz and afterwards my mom and I wandered around Battery Park and the pastel colored historic homes that surround it. First stop though was of course to Sugar Bakeshop! If you find yourself in Charleston this is an absolute must. Their coconut almond red velvet cupcakes are to die for.
