Lilly & Blake had a gorgeous, early fall wedding day at Blue Bell Farm – as recently published in Wedding Sparrow! I was so excited to see this beautiful day featured! Here’s an excerpt I wrote about the day for Wedding Sparrow:
Lilly and Blake planned a scenic and sentimental day at the beautiful Blue Bell Farm in mid-Missouri. Nestled between St Louis and Kansas City, the charming, historic venue is family-run (and has been for 7 generations!) and over 200 years old. Lilly and Blake loved the laid-back feel of the space and knew they could add their own modern touches to make it feel like personalized for their wedding day.
They perfectly mixed modern and classic details for their gorgeous Blue Bell Farm fall wedding. For cocktail hour, they took sentimental notes they had written each other and printed them on napkins! Guests added a custom ‘Carlton’ (their new shared last name!) drink stirrer for a sweet pairing.
Lilly and her bridesmaids got ready at the historic cottage on the property. Her bridal party hadn’t seen her dress, so she did a first look with them. This was such a fun moment seeing them so surprised and so excited! She waited, however, to see Blake as she walked down the aisle. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!
For the ceremony, guests were welcomed with custom newspaper programs (complete with puzzles they could fill out!), and an assortment of flower petals to toss as the couple exited the aisle. To end the night, guests lined the pathway with sparklers and they took Blake’s dad’s vintage Porche as a getaway car complete with a ‘just married’ sign!
